Peter P. Venezia

Peter Paul Venezia, age 71, of West Townsend, MA, passed away on September 3, 2023. He was 71 years old.  Peter was born on April 13, 1952, in Boston, MA, to his late parents, Pat and Lucy Venezia.

Peter Venezia went by many names. Some of our personal favorites are Dad, Grandpa, and Pyro. He was a man with a big heart that needed to love and receive love in return. It was the relationships in his life that brought him his greatest joy. Maybe that’s why he didn’t hesitate to raise six children. His daughters Lisa, Cheryl, and Karen, have lasting memories of elaborate sand castles, playing octopus, starting a fire with a single match, a sense of exploration to go anywhere and climb anything, and the secret to a good gravy.
His children by choice, Doriana and Anthony, will always remember the family dinner table, the way he didn’t hesitate to take them into his heart, and the way Pete masterfully managed a grill of any size, at any time of the year.
Pete’s grandson and Best Bud Eli were inseparable since the day Eli was born. Days filled with cooking dinners, fixing things in the garage, and racing the lawnmower down the hill, always ended with a bowl of ice cream.
Pete loved working on his ’35 Chevy, riding his motorcycle, eating out of the ice cream cartons, growing any plant that stood half a chance, and playing in the snow. If you were blessed to know Pete’s smile, Pete’s laugh, or Pete’s cooking, then rest assured knowing you were loved by him as well.
Peter will be forever remembered by his fellow members of the Rolling Thunder, his siblings Joe, Robert, and Patti, his grandchildren Molly, Luke, and Eli, his children Lisa, Karen, Doriana, and Anthony, and finds himself reunited with his parents Pat and Lucy, his brother Tom, his daughter Cheryl, and his wife Christine.

Peter will be remembered for his love of ice cream, his willingness to go on any adventure, and a house full of as much love as there was food. His bright smile and big hugs will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A viewing to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth, located at 809 Main St, (Across from South Shore Hospital) on Wednesday, September 13, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden at a later date.
