Peter P. Golden

Golden, Peter P. of Quincy, died December 24, 2015. 

Peter grew up in South Boston, where he met Dolores, his high school sweetheart, who became his wife and mother to their eight children. Peter was a member of the US Navy and served on the USS Saratoga (CVA 60) during the Korean War.  He worked as a director for the comptroller’s division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  In 1963, Peter and Dolores moved to Quincy, where he was a valued member of the community.  He was an active brother of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus, an usher for St. Ann’s church, a volunteer for Quincy Youth Hockey, and a Cub Scout leader.  He enjoyed camping with his family, rooting for Boston sports teams, golfing, meeting friends at the local coffee shop, and going for walks, especially with his grandchildren.  Peter will be remembered as a devoted family man who always spoke kindly of others.  His strength, perseverance, and fighting spirit are the legacy that will continue to be a source of inspiration.

Beloved husband of Dolores (Lewis) Golden of Quincy.  Loving father of Paula J. Coleman (Peter) of Quincy, Linda A. Tierney (late Kevin) of Pembroke, Peter P. Golden (Carlin) of Plymouth, Mary Beth Pound (Robert) of Quincy, Stephen P. Golden (Jennifer) of Quincy, Richard B. Golden (Cheryl) of Quincy, Kristen M. Arnstein (Jack) of Braintree, and Lori A. Golden of Quincy.  Son of the late Francis M. and Mildred Golden.  Brother of Dorothy Donahue of Norwood, Mildred Davis of Mansfield, Clare McDonough of ME, Joseph of Marshfield, and the late Marie Doucette, Kevin, Paul, Francis, and Ruth Conti.  Also survived by 27 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM.  Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
