Nickerson, Peter of Squantum July 10, 2008. Loving husband of Susan(Flanagan) Nickerson of Squantum. Adoring father of Derek, Ryan and Ashley Nickerson all of Squantum and the late Brett Nickerson. Brother of JohnNickerson of Squantum. Son of the late Forrest & Jean “Bunny” Nickerson. Son-in-law of Geraldine Flanagan. Also survived by his best friend and companion, his dog Seamus, and many other close relatives and friends. Peter was born in Boston and was a life long resident of Squantum. He was a 1963 graduate of North Quincy High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. Peter was employed as a master plumber with the Plumbers Union Local 12 for 39 years before retiring in 2001. He was a proud union member who enjoyed teaching at the Plumbing Apprentice School in Boston. Peter was the Senior Vice Commander and past Commander of the Nickerson Post in Squantum. He recently spent a wonderful vacation in Florida with his wife and children. Peter enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking and was an avid Red Sox fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and his best friend and companion, his dog Seamus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Monday 3- 7 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Peter Nickerson Scholarship fund, Robert I. Nickerson Post, 10 Moon Island Rd. Squantum, MA 02171.
