Peter James Casey Jr.

Peter James Casey Jr., of Marshfield, formerly of Hull, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Ruth McLain Hospice Home in Braintree. He was 69.

Peter was born in Everett on January 27, 1954, and was the son of the late Peter James and Regina A. (Comeau) Casey. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Peter worked for the Town of Hingham in the Hingham Light Department. He retired in 2021 after 30+ years of service.

Peter wore many titles: dad, brother, son, friend, but his favorite was grandpa. Family and friends were the most important part of Peter’s life. And to that extent, there wasn’t anything he loved more than spending time with his family and especially his grandson, Samuel. Peter enjoyed going to sporting events, tailgating, and all things Boston sports. He was also known for taking many road trips to visit family with his faithful pup Hannah in the passenger seat.

Peter was hardworking, laid back, optimistic, sincere, and had a great sense of humor. His life lessons and examples are part of his legacy that continue through his family. Peter will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Peter was the devoted father of Laura O. Allhoff and her husband Nicholas of Fairfax Station, Virginia, Luke J. Casey and his wife Jennifer of Glendale, California, and the late Joseph Edward Casey. He was the loving grandfather of Samuel F. Allhoff. Peter was the dear brother of Linda M. Humphries and her late husband George of Winthrop and the late Susan M. Dishong. He was the cherished uncle of Heidi Freda of Winthrop, Kristine Mottler and her husband Christopher of Connecticut, Jordan Washington-Freda of Winthrop, and the late James Dishong. Peter is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, March 12, 2023, 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday, March 13, 2023, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Services will conclude with interment in High Street Cemetery, Hingham.
