Pierson, Peter J. of Scituate formerly of Arlington January 16, 2007. Husband of the late Phyllis Pierson. Beloved father of Sandra Pierson of Hingham, and Christine Pierson of W. Yarmouth. Loving brother of the late Wanda Howard, Loretta Hartnett, Edward Pierson, and Anthony Pierson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. Hingham on Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2 – 6 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter Pierson may be made to American Cancer Society, Central NE Region, 18 Tremont Street, Suite 700 Boston, MA 02108. Peter was a resident at Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate. Prior to that , he spent a short time at Sunrise Assisted Living. Peter and his wife Phyllis lived in Arlington for over 47 years. Peter graduated from Bentley School of Accounting with an Accounting Degree and then went to Northeastern University for a Degree in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Peter worked as an Accountant/Office Manager for Northeast Petroleum in Chelsea for 23 years. Prior to working there, he worked for Hunt Foods Inc. in Charlestown for over 20 years. Peter was a kind, compassionate, quiet but social person. He loved playing golf with his brother and fishing. He loved the outdoors, doing yard work and gardening. Most of all, he loved being with his family and friends. He was a member of the VFW in Somerville and the Kiwanis Club in Chelsea. Peter spent many summers in Yarmouth.
