Peter J. Janis

Janis, Peter J. of Quincy, died July 16, 2015 at the age of 91. 

Beloved husband of 67 years to  Marcelle (LaChance) Janis of Quincy.  Loving father of  Patricia Kelley and her husband John of Plymouth, Christine Janis and her husband Douglas MacFarlane of Florida, Denise Johnson and her husband Eric of Duxbury and Peter R. Janis and his fiancée Karen Carlson of Quincy.  Cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Peter grew up and was educated in Roxbury and later settled in Quincy with his wife Marcelle where they raised their four children.  Peter was the ultimate Entrepreneur, he was a self employed plumber for many years and then developed Rossmore Laundry in 1964 and Jamaica Plain Car Wash all being successful businesses.  He was not only successful businessman, but he was known for being a kind and generous person in the community of his business always willing to help those in need of a helping hand.  He was an avid Red Sox fan and a proud WWII Coast Guard Veteran. Peter was dedicated to his work but most of all to his family who were the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
