Walsh, Peter F. of Quincy, died on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the age of 83. Brother of the late Margaret Goldstein, James, Martin, John, Michael, Thomas and Edward Walsh and Winifred Wells. Loving Uncle and best friend of Virginia Allosso and her husband Patrick of Woburn, Janice Whalen and her husband Ritchie of Quincy, Thomas Wells of South Boston, Carol Clark of Randolph, Cynthia O’Connell of Maynard, Jackie Walsh and his wife Patty Gage-Walsh of Weymouth. Cherished Uncle and teacher to Shannan & Michael Whalen, Gregory & Jonathan Walsh, John Wells Clark, Elizabeth O’Connell and many other nieces and nephews. Peter is also survived by many dear friends at Granite St. apartments. Peter grew up in South Boston and lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1952. He worked for the J.J. Reddington Company in Braintree and then later for the Cabot Corp. before retiring back in 1985. He had a love for the ocean and always enjoyed the beach. Peter was a true gentleman. He was a wonderful teacher for his entire family. He enjoyed photography and talk radio. He was always an avid reader, but in his later years when he became legally blind he enjoyed audio books. He will be remembered for his sparkling blue eyes and his great sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday, September 9, 2009 4- 8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Thursday, September 10, 2009 prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Peter may be made to Alliance Health Care , 175 Grove St. Braintree, MA 02184.
