Peter Agganis

Peter Agganis of Hingham, passed away peacefully September 28, 2022. He was 84 years old.

Peter was born in Skortsinos Greece and had lived in Saugus and Quincy before moving to Hingham where he and his wife Ann Marie raised their family for the last 44 years. Peter enjoyed his work as a printer and had also worked as a Chef at Jimmy’s Harborside Restaurant in Boston. He had a passion for gardening and took special care in growing his vegetable crop every year. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, cooking his multiple favorite meals, and playing and exchanging wisdom with his grandson Demetrius. He also loved taking care of his home and yard. Peter was a person of the people making relationships everywhere he went. He would say hello to everyone by name and ask how they were doing when he visited his favorite shops. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was the son of the late Costa Dino and Angelique Agganis. Beloved husband of Ann Marie Agganis of Hingham. Proud father of Dean Agganis of Holiday FL, and Nicholas Agganis and his wife Kristin. Adoring “Papou” to Demetrius Agganis. Loving brother of Voula Connors and her husband Ed of Saugus, Mike and Karen Agganis of Las Vegas NV, and the late Dina Agganis. Peter will also be missed by many extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Service in St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church at 11 AM. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
