Pauline L. Cronin

Cronin, Pauline L. (Rooney) 90, passed away at Harbor House Nursing Center, in Hingham, Mass on February 15, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 64 years of Thomas P. Cronin of Quincy. Loving mother of Stephen F. and his wife Karen Cronin of Lyman, Maine, Paula M. and her husband Fred Beasley of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Mary L. Fitzgerald of Braintree, Lisa Cronin Smith and her husband Tim Smith of Scituate, and Kathleen Cronin Varroso and her husband Bill Varroso of Weymouth. Devoted “Grandma” to Sean Cronin and his wife Kim, Jeffrey Cronin and his wife Laura, Caitlin Fitzgerald and her fiance Joe Ferrero, Peter Smith, and Anna Smith. Great Grandmother of Bradyn, Taylor and Ainsley Cronin. Loving sister of the late Katherine Devlin, Joseph Rooney and Frances Kennedy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pauline was an avid Red Sox fan and an accomplished artist. She worked for many years for the Blue Hill Girl Scout Council and retired from Kemper Insurance in 1980. In her retirement she enjoyed travels to Europe, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. Her family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided for Pauline by the staff at Harbor House. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
