O’Mara, Paula M. (Shea) of Quincy, passed away November 27, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 83.
She was born on May 18, 1931 in Boston. She grew up in Milton and was a graduate of Milton High School. As a young girl, she would play the piano with her father and they would harmonize together. Paula was an avid bowler, enjoyed music and loved to dance. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. Paula took several cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean with her family. Paula lived at 1000 Southern Artery for the past six years where she played Bingo and enjoyed socializing with her many friends. Before becoming a homemaker, Paula worked at Mass Bonding. After raising her four children she went to work at State Street Bank in Quincy where she was employed for 18 years. What Paula loved most was being around her children and grandchildren and was always the centerpiece of the family gatherings. Paula will be remembered for her love of life, her smile, her laughter, her sense of humor and her selfless nature.
Paula was the beloved daughter of the late Matthew Joseph Shea and Mary Pauline (McGinty) Shea and sister of the late John Shea and Donald Shea. Paula was the cherished and loving mother of Kathleen Guido of Abington, Doreen Parker and her husband Bob of Braintree, William O’Mara and his partner Jim Aldersley of Bridgewater and Paula O’Mara of Quincy. She was the beloved grandmother of Ryan, Kevin and Patrick Parker and Matthew Guido. She was also survived by many dear friends and her beloved grand dogs and grand cats. She was the former wife of William O’Mara, QFD.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
