O’Sullivan, Paul V. of Duxbury, passed away August 18, 2019 with his family by his side. Beloved son of the late Catherine Sullivan, Paul was born and raised in Boston with his dear brother, the late Robert “Bob” Alix. Paul attended Boston English High School. Later he was proud to enlist in the United States Army and served during the Korean war. Paul managed several Post Office branches and later worked as a Manager for the South Postal Annex in Boston.
Happily married for 62 wonderful years to the late Josephine “Jo” (Ruggiero) O’Sullivan. Loving father of Mark O’Sullivan and his wife Debra of Norfolk and Susan (O’Sullivan) Jain and her husband Ashok of Chicago. Cherished grandfather to Bridget, Kevin and Brian. Also survived by his special niece Susie (Alix) Howard and her husband Tommy of Charlestown.
Paul was a kind, gentle man and a devout Catholic. His family, friends and faith were a source of joy and happiness to him. He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted family. Always giving to others, upon retirement he volunteered at the local food pantry and recycling center. Paul enjoyed reading, watching the Boston Red Sox, making puzzles, taking walks and enjoying a cup of tea.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend all services on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 9:30 am – 10:00 am at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home located at SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held in the Holy Family Church (Chapel) in Duxbury at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors to follow the Funeral Mass at Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
