Paul F. "Papa" Roche, of Quincy, originally from St. Gregory's Parish in Dorchester, passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 82. Paul was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School and spent many years working with Greyhound Bus Lines before fulfilling his dream of entrepreneurship. In the 1980s, alongside his close friend Mario Colucci, they founded Reliable Courier Service, a local business that became a staple in the community. Paul not only provided exceptional service through his company but also gave back by sponsoring local youth sports teams, reflecting his deep commitment to the community.
Paul's life truly transformed when he became a grandfather. He embraced his role as "Papa" with unmatched devotion, lighting up at every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was their biggest fan and constant source of love and support. You could often find him attending one of his grandchildren’s many performances, sporting events or school activities.
A passionate New England Patriots fan and long-time season ticket holder, Paul also loved all Boston sports teams. Paul also loved traveling with his wife, Norma, creating beautiful memories along the way the why while often spending the winters in Naples and Aruba.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Norma (Cushing) Roche, and his loving children: Terry Roche and her husband Mike Richardson of Braintree, Paul F. Roche, Jr. of Quincy and his longtime girlfriend Kristen Babineau of Weymouth, Deanna Murphy and her husband William Murphy of Weymouth, and Andrea McDonough and her husband PJ McDonough of Weymouth.
He was a proud "Papa" to Anthony Dimico, D'onna Roche, Paulie Roche, the late David M. Tapper, Will Murphy, Genevieve Murphy, Ryan McDonough, Rylie McDonough, Lily McDonough, Hannah Prasad, Josh Prasad, and great-grandchildren of Kaya Stinehart and Michael Raymond DiMeco.
Paul is also survived by his siblings Kevin Roche of Weymouth, Mary Fabrizio and her late husband Al of Marshfield, and Gerard Roche and his wife Val of Weymouth, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel Roche, and Brian Roche.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth, located at 809 Main Street (Rte 18, opposite South Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday before the Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
