Cassidy, Paul M. of Brookline, formerly of Quincy and Arlington, passed away on August, 27, 2012. He was 87. The beloved husband of Emma (Kugelmann) Cassidy and beloved father of Donna Cassidy of RI, Charles Cassidy of Wellesley, and Paula and Michael Cassidy, both of Jamaica Plain. Son of the late John T Cassidy, born Donegal Ireland and Susanna Josephine (McNamara) Cassidy, born in Kinsale , Ireland. Brother of Joseph Cassidy of Colorado and the late John, George, James, Mary, Edward, William and Leo Cassidy. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Zoe and Tyler Cassidy. Paul was a proud veteran. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hubbard during W.W. II and also in the United States Army where he served his country until 1949. After his military career,he worked as a printer for Spaulding Moss for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. Paul Michael Cassidy was warm,kind, loving and compassionate, and an adored husband and father. He loved music, especially Jazz. He was smart, vibrant and curious about life, constantly learning new things. His favorite magazine was The New Yorker. He had a great sense of humor and wit. He cherished and appreciated life, and instilled those values and virtues in his children. He is already deeply missed. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to Greater Boston Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc. 1505 Commonwealth Avenue, Suite 310, Brighton, MA 02135.
