Paul J. McMahon, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in Weymouth, at the age of 87.
Paul grew up in the close-knit community of South Boston, where he was both raised and educated. A proud graduate of South Boston High School in 1956. Paul's career spanned over three decades at the Boston Edison, where he was respected for his reliability and commitment, retiring in 1988. His professional journey didn't end there; he also served with a friendly demeanor in customer information at the Prudential in Boston. In his later years, Paul found joy in his role as a cashier at Johnnie's Food Master, he made many wonderful friends who still kept in touch over the years.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Paul was a loving brother to Mary Boyle of Saugus, and Virginia Blake of Norwell. He was a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary McMahon, and his brother James McMahon.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 4-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The American Lung Association.
