Barrett, Paul L. of Hingham September 11, 2008. The beloved husband of 32 years to Beatrice Genovese Barrett of Hingham. Loving step-father of Camellia Genovese Sullivan of Andover, Johanna Genovese Stella of the Bahamas and Hingham, Charles Clifford Genovese and William Bradford Genovese both of Hingham. Paul is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Paul was born and raised in South Boston, he served in the United States Navy from 1942-1944. After his service career, Paul entered Sacred Heart Seminary in Fair Haven, after his ordination he ministered at Angelicum University in Rome. Paul served as a Catholic Priest for 17 years. After leaving the priesthood, he started his second career as an analyst and worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He met and later married Beatrice Genovese in 1976 and moved to Hingham. Paul enjoyed boating and was a member of the Hingham Yacht Club. He loved to garden and was an avid reading. Paul also enjoyed following sports. He was a member of the Cursillo Prayer Group. He will be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. Paul will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have had him in their lives. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham, Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2- 9 PM. Burial in Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Paul may be made to St. Paul’s Church, 147 North St., Hingham, MA 02043.
