Paul L. Milone of Weymouth, died December 8, 2020 at the age of 74. Paul served as the Weymouth Harbormaster since 1992. He was co-founder of the first Harbormaster Academy to provide certification for Massachusetts Harbormasters. A proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Pt. Allerton Flotilla for over 40 years, Paul held many appointed and elected offices within the organization. Paul had a passion for boating safety education and taught State and Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating for over 45 years. He was an instructor for the Municipal Training Council; Past President of the Mass Harbormaster Association; a Norfolk County Deputy Sheriff; a member of the Massachusetts Police Association; a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons; and a Vietnam era U.S. Navy Veteran.
Beloved husband of Lisa (Verrill) Milone. Loving brother of Jean (Milone) D’Eramo of Plymouth and the late Donald P. Milone of Punta Gorda, FL. Brother in law of Connie Milone of Punta Gorda, FL, Reverend Wendell Verrill, Stephen Verrill and his wife Frances, Deirdre (Verrill) Robinson and Sandra (Verrill) White. Uncle and Great Uncle to many loving nieces and nephews.
Paul was a loving source of support for many nieces and nephews. Offering them advice and encouragement whenever needed. He loved playing Santa Claus and at one time was the official Coast Guard Santa Claus. He was known for his welcoming smile and great sense of humor. At family events he was usually the last one to leave the dance floor. He enjoyed promoting boating safety and always reminded everyone “Safe Boating is no Accident”.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM on Monday. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne Monday at 12:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, Mass General Development Office c/o Megan Daniels, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. For those unable to gather together with Paul’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
