Moriarty, Paul Joseph formerly of Quincy, age 88, died Monday, January 7, 2008 with his son and daughter at his side. Paul was the beloved father of Paula Turner and her husband Steve of Suffolk, VA, and Kevin Moriarty and his wife Linda of Whitman. He was the loving grandfather of five and great grandfather of seven. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Paul was predeceased by his cherished brother John and sister Mary and his step children John and Susanne Drennan. Paul had a long career filled with achievement. He served with the Navy in World War II in the South Pacific, including duty on Guadalcanal. After the war, he began a 30 + year career as a USPS employee while simultaneously using the GI Bill to attend Boston University. Upon graduation, he began teaching in the Boston Public School System, where his career culminated with service as a school psychologist in the early 1990’s. Paul was a resident of Squantum and later Adams Shore for the past 40 years until he went into a long-term care facility in 2006. He traveled extensively in his later years, usually with his cherished companion, Rita Quinn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation with the immediate family from 4-7 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. WOLLASTON. There will be a Funeral Home Service following the visitation, to be celebrated at 7 PM. Interment will be at MA National Cemetery, Bourne with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local hospice organization or charity of your choice.
