Paul J. Lloyd, Sr.

Paul J. Lloyd, Sr., of Quincy, died peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020. He was 81.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Massachusetts and was the son of the late Persey Lloyd and Margaret (Pettipas) Lloyd Butler. Paul attended local schools and graduated from Dorchester High School with the Class of 1956. After high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country. He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1960. Following the service, Paul went to work for the Teamsters and retired in 2005. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed doing puzzles, boating, cooking, spending time with family and friends. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Quincy and the Quincy Sons of Italy.

Paul had blue eyes and many called him “blue eyes” and “Pop’s”. He had a great smile and wonderful sense of humor. Paul was kind hearted, generous, hospitable and loving. He will be missed by all the lives he touched.

Paul was the devoted father of Paul J. Lloyd, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Plymouth and Daughter Jeanne Marie (Lloyd) Clavette of Holbrook. He was the loving grandfather of five and great grandfather of four. Paul is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings James Butler and Betty Manginni.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Paul’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
