Paul J. Kilgallen

Kilgallen, Paul of Abington, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on February 28, 2021. Paul was born and raised in Braintree to the late Francis and Marion Kilgallen. He attended Braintree High School and worked for many years as a small business owner of a residential floor cleaning service and later as a manager in the housekeeping department at South Shore Hospital. In retirement, he worked part-time at Ridder Golf Course. Paul was a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending mass at Saint Bridget Parish with his wife Sandra. He loved to travel including time on the Cape in the summer and especially enjoyed going on cruises. Paul was a people person and relished the opportunity to simply spend time with his friends and family, and in particular manning the grill at family cookouts. He loved his dog Taffy and taking her for daily walks around the neighborhood. His grandchildren, and time with them, were a constant source of joy for him, and brought him the biggest smiles. Paul’s family meant the world to him and they will miss him dearly.

Beloved husband of 51 years to Sandra A. Kilgallen of Abington. Loving father of Brian Kilgallen and his wife Teresa of North Carolina and Michelle Kallio of Taunton. Proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren; Ryan, Emily, Katie and Matthew Kilgallen and Sarah and Anna Kallio. Dear brother of Francis Kilgallen and wife Frances of Peabody and brother in law of Chris Kilgallen of Plymouth, Gary DePari of South Weymouth and Jan DePari. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his brother Robert Kilgallen.  

All services for Paul shall be private, a celebration of life for him will be held at a later date. Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another.
