Paul Francis Mccormack

McCormack, Paul Francis, formerly of Squantum, passed away at Alliance Health Care November 16, 2018.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret “Jean” (Urquhart) McCormack. Devoted father of Joanne Flanagan and her husband William of Weymouth, Michael McCormack and his wife Diane of Salisbury, Stephen McCormack and his wife Julie of Quincy, Robert McCormack and his wife Susan of Weymouth, Paula MacLeod and her husband John of Weymouth, and Paul McCormack and his wife Kerry of East Bridgewater. Proud and cherished “Grampy” of 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Nancy Mahoney of Norwell and the late Claire Donelan, Joseph, Mark, and Daniel McCormack. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Paul was raised in Meeting House Hill in Dorchester and was a longtime Squantum resident. Over the past year, after leaving North Quincy, he lived briefly at Allerton House in Weymouth. Paul was very proud of his Dorchester roots, he enjoyed playing football and baseball at Ronan Park. He played in the Boston Park League for the Hamilton Club as a pitcher/outfielder at the age of 15. He organized the very successful Meeting House Hill reunions. Paul served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Robert I. Nickerson Post #382. He served as an usher at Star of the Sea Church for over fifty years until its closure.

A teamster for over 35 years, he was employed by Navajo Freight Lines and ABF Freight Systems. He was a member of the Local 504, 25, 42, and 653. Paul thoroughly enjoyed playing cards at the Kennedy Senior Center every Wednesday. His family would like to thank the staff at Allerton House, Alliance Health Care, and Old Colony Hospice for their care and support of Paul over the past year. Paul will be greatly missed by his family to whom he was so devoted.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, WEYMOUTH at 10:15 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
