Paul F. Tobin, Jr.

Paul F. Tobin, Jr., originally from Quincy, passed peacefully at home on Sunday May 27, 2018 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Quincy, he is predeceased by his mother Ethel Bishop Tobin, his father Paul F. Tobin, Sr. and his sister Carol Weed. While growing up, he summered in Gilmanton, NH with his family and had many great memories of bringing his own children up to the cottage. Paul attended Quincy public schools and worked for General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy as a welder. He joined the Navy in 1963 and was assigned to the MCB—5 Construction Battalion. He spent time in California at Port Hueneme before being deployed to Da-Nag, Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam he became a self–employed carpenter. He loved carpentry and was extremely talented. His favorite hobby was fishing. He loved to go to Castle Island or sail out to Boston Light. He managed to find all the good fishing holes. Another passion was riding his Harley through the Blue Hills on a warm summer night.

Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years Marion Hayes Tobin; his three children, Steven of Abington, Christopher and his wife Heather of Whitman and Jennifer and her husband Michael of Burbank California.  He also has 7 loving grandchildren that he adored- Kyle, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Ian John, Addie and Mylan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
