McDonald, Paul F., a long time resident of Quincy, passed away February 7, 2021. Paul was born and raised in Mission Hill, son of the the late John and Agnes (King) MacDonald. Dear brother of John, Teddy and George McDonald, Eileen (Enie) Fielder, Agnes (Aggie) Doyle, Mary Simon, Marion (Marnie) Kelley.

Paul was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie “Rose” (Feeley) McDonald. He was also the loving and proud father of Michelle (McDonald) Leonard of Plymouth, formerly Quincy and Paul McDonald of Quincy, formerly of South Boston. Cherished Grandpa of Robert Fenton, Paul, Amberose and Shane McDonald, as well as Rosemarie Leonard. Paul will be fondly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Paul was affectionately known as “Blondie Mac” by his childhood friends in Mission Hill where he was raised.  He always spoke of the great times he had with his best friend, Jim Dooley. Upon his graduation from Boston Trade High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Paul returned home, started McDonald Roofing; married the love of his life, Rose and raised their two children. Paul developed a passion for boating.  He was a lifetime member, as well as one time Commodore, of the Town River Yacht Club in Quincy. He was a proud and affectionate “Grandpa” to his beloved grandchildren.

Paul loved to vacation at the family vacation home in Nova Scotia. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and happily traveled to Scotland. He also enjoyed his time in Englewood, FL where he spent his early retirement years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 3:00 -5:00 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Paul to The V.A. Boston Healthcare System, Brockton VAMC Campus, 940 Belmont St, Brockton, MA 02301. For those who can’t gather together with Paul’s family at this time, you can still offer support by clicking the link above and sharing a special memory or message.
