Paul was the youngest child of Jimmy & Mary (McCooey) Devaney. He was born in Boston and grew up in Allston. He graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1952. After high school he served in the United States Air force and married the love of his life, Barbara. He went to school for electronics and retired as a mechanic from the South Postal Annex where he worked for 30 years retiring back in 1991. Paul moved to Norwell 26 years ago. His love of travel took him to places such as Colorado, Maryland, Disney World, Washington DC as well as New York City and Las Vegas. He was an avid stamp collector and a great history buff, which started his interest in genealogy. He was very proud of his family and looked forward to the annual Devaney-McCooey family reunions every year. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. His stories of his childhood and early days will be cherished and never forgotten. Donations in memory of Mr. Devaney may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38105.
