Paul F. Day

Day, Paul F. of Weymouth, passed away July 8, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born in Boston to the late Marion and Francis O’Day. Paul grew up in Milton and attended Milton High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and worked for many years as a mechanical engineer for Polaroid Corp. Paul was a proud United States veteran serving during WWII in the Air Force, Army and Coast Guard. He would later teach boating safety as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In earlier years, Paul was a drummer in a band and a member of Wessagusset Yacht Club, where he loved racing sailboats. He was also a devout Catholic and member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Weymouth. Paul was an accomplished furniture maker and enjoyed hockey and spending time on Cape Cod at their Chatham home. 

Beloved husband to Gertrude “Trudy” A. Day of Weymouth. Loving father of Debra Day Minahan and her husband Dennis of Duxbury and Susan Pourbaix and her husband John of Walpole. Cherished Bumpy of Danielle and Jay Pourbaix and Brayden Minahan.  

Services will be private with burial at Bourne National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Paul to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts at www.emassbigs.org.
