Paul F. “Beefy” Klumpp

Klumpp, Paul F. “Beefy” of Braintree and So. Boston, died peacefully, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Boston Medical Center after a short illness. Father of Paul and Michael Klumpp, both of So. Boston. Brother of Carl Klumpp and his wife Alice of Squantum, and Barbara and her husband Robert Fitzgerald of Braintree. Former husband of Mary Feeney of So. Boston. Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Paul retired in 2008 after 19 years at the Boston Herald. He was a man of varied interests which included cooking, fishing and biking. He was also known for his “green thumb” and built a flowering garden and wishing well at the South Boston Yacht Club entrance, with the proceeds donated to a children’s charity. Paul was an accomplished boater participating and winning many racing competitions in the 210 class sailboat “The Joker”. He especially enjoyed his weekly Blackjack games with his Mother and brother-in-law. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate his life at the Memorial Funeral Service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy on Saturday, November 14th at 11 am. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul “Beefy” may be made to the South Boston Yacht Club Special Kids Program, 1849 Columbia Road, South Boston, MA 02127.
