Paul Edward Noble, Sr.

Paul Edward Noble, Sr., 88, passed away in Hingham on Sunday, August 14, 2016, after a brief illness.

Paul’s life was characterized by service to his community, his love of music, the New England Patriots and most of all by his love of family, and his great pride in his children,  grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paul was born in 1927 in Dorchester to Raymond and Agnes Noble.  A World War II-era veteran, Paul moved to Weymouth in 1951 shortly after being discharged from the U.S. Army.  As President of A.E. Noble Movers for many years, Paul oversaw the Tuft’s Library relocation from its former site in Weymouth Landing to its present location on Broad Street.  Outgoing and sociable, Paul was very involved in Weymouth’s Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception parishes, where he lent his strong tenor voice to numerous parish musical productions. A lifelong New England Patriots fan, Paul was a co-founder of the South Shore Quarterback Club. He was also a charter member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks #2232, and a Weymouth Precinct 6 Town Meeting Member.

Paul moved to the Cape shortly after he married his second wife Frances in 1986. Both were active volunteers with the Town of Dennis Senior Center.  He was also a welcome addition to the Mid Cape Chorus. Fran pre-deceased Paul in 2013.  Shortly after, Paul moved to Hingham, where he lived until his death.

Paul will be dearly missed by his children Kathleen Rogers and her husband Kenneth of Weymouth, Beth Morley of Weymouth, Paul E. Noble, Jr. and his wife Anne of Hingham, Karen Noble and her husband Larry Hepinstall of Upton, Julianne Noble of Dedham, John Noble of Weymouth, and David Noble and his wife Melanie of Kirkwood, MO, and their mother, Josephine (Fitzgerald) Noble of Weymouth. His 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren will miss their Grampy very much, and he will be mourned by his stepchildren Bruce Miceli, Keith Miceli and Lynn Slade and their families. Paul is also survived by his brother Robert Noble, Sr. of Quincy, and his sister Marie (Noble) Stapleton and her husband Frank, of Dedham, and their families.  In addition to his wife Fran, Paul was also pre-deceased by his brother Raymond.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. There will be a private burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery where Paul will be laid to rest beside his wife Fran.
