Paul E. Fandel

Paul E. Fandel of Braintree, passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2016 at the age of 79.

Paul grew up in Roxbury and attended Boston English High School. He then went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his service he returned home and joined John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston, where he worked for 41 years before retiring as a Group Pension Administrator. He was a member of the American Legion Post #86 in Braintree, and the VFW Post #697 in Whitman. Paul was an avid Boston sports fan. He especially loved the Red Sox, and enjoyed attending his grandsons’ baseball and hockey games.

Son of the late Edward L. and Ann G. (McGovern) Fandel. Beloved husband of the late Joan B. (Barrasso) Fandel. Loving father of Robin A. Noonan and her husband Jeff of Braintree. Devoted “Papa” of John “Jack” Noonan and Mark Noonan. Brother of  the late Elizabeth Cosentino. Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to South Shore VNA, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
