Mr. Paul B. McCarty of Weymouth, passed away on April 6, 2024. He was 100.

Born in Worcester, the son of the late Lawrence F. and Mary (McArdle) McCarty.

Brother of the late Helen Nadeau, Claire Butler, Marcella McCarty, Lawrence McCarty, and Mary Berry.

Much beloved husband of Carol Ann D’Arcy of Weymouth.

Dear father of Paul C. McCarty of Florida and Christine S. McCarty of Pittsburg, PA., and their deceased mother Christine Carmichael McCarty. Survived by nephews and nieces and friends made over many decades.

Paul spent his career serving as a diplomat in the US Foreign Service for 371/2 years. His assignments included Iraq, India, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Syria, Vietnam, Sweden, Turkey, and Ireland. He was also a founding member of the Foreign Affairs Retirees of New England (FARNE).

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Thursday, April 11th from 9-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square), followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
