Paul Almeida

Paul Almeida a longtime resident of Cohasset, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with ALS on Sunday, December 17, 2023.  He was 79.

He was born in Newton to Winifred (Breheny) and Manuel Almeida and raised in North Weymouth on Great Hill.  After graduating from Weymouth High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University.  Paul worked as an engineer with Stone and Webster for many years before joining R.W. Beck as a consultant. A few years after college, he married Paula (Perrotta), the love of his life.  In the late 70’s they built their dream home in Cohasset, where they would spend the remainder of their days together.

In his spare time, Paul was an avid traveler with his wife, Paula.  Their travels took them across the country through many national parks, South America, Patagonia, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, Ireland, Switzerland and most recently, Alaska.  Winters were spent skiing across New England and out west. For the last 12 years Paul and Paula spent winters on the Island of Anguilla with friends from the US and Canada.  Summers were spent sailing the coast of New England with family and friends.  He was a member of the South Shore Yacht Club in Weymouth for over 40 years.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Paula Almeida (Perrotta) of Cohasset.  Devoted father to Stephen Almeida and his wife Allison Townsend of Tampa, FL and Lauren Auvil of E. Greenwich, RI.  Cherished grandfather to Jennifer Almeida, Colin Auvil and Madeleine Auvil.  Loving brother to John Almeida of Punta Gorda, FL.  Brother-in-law to John Perrotta of Brockton.  Also survived by many extended family members from Ireland and friends from all over the world.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, January 6th, from 10 AM-12 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6th at 12 PM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.
