Paul A. Roy of North Weymouth, MA died January 27, 2020. Devoted husband to the late Clare (McMahon) from Spancil Hill, Ireland, and devoted father to Paul Roy of Camarillo, CA; Diane & Bob Donahoe of Medfield, MA; David & Marie Roy of Halifax, MA; Michelle & Sean Gillan of Pembroke, MA, and Alison & Paul Carella of San Francisco, CA. Loving grandfather (Grampy) to Brianne (Donahoe) & Colin McGree of Westwood, MA; Sean Donahoe of London, England; Mark & Max Carella of San Francisco, CA; Hannah, Madison & Ian Gillan of Pembroke, MA; and his late grandson Brendan Gillan. Also Great-Grampy to great-granddaughters, Ellery & Jocelyn McGree.

Paul was born on March 10, 1930 in St. Johnsbury, VT to the late Alfred & Antoinette (Veilleux) Roy. Loving brother to Helen Godin of Leominister, MA and the late Theresa Dunbar of Fairfield, CA, late Al (Junior) Roy of St. Johnsbury, VT, late Arlene Smith of Gilman, VT, and the late Claire Pierce of E. Montpelier, VT. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, Paul enlisted in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 serving on the USS Leyte. He retired from Boston Insulated Wire in 1992 after 37 years; was a member of the Wessagusett Bowling League for 30 years, was an active parishioner of St. Jerome’s Parish since 1960, and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels from 1995 until his illness. Also, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters for over 75 years.

He was an avid sports fan, loved to travel, and especially loved his family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday from 9:15-10:15 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square) followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 70 Walnut Street, Suite 301, Wellesley, MA 02481.
