Paul A. Mcdermott

McDermott, Paul A. of Quincy, died on December 13, 2009. Paul was born in Roxbury and has lived in Quincy since 1965. He graduated from Boston College in 1954. He was employed as an engineer for New England Telephone and Nynex for 40 years before retiring in 2001. His passion was watching Boston College football and spending time with his 8 grandchildren. He was a member of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Beloved husband of Jane (McDermott) McDermott of Quincy. Devoted father of Hugh P. McDermott and his wife Carol of Milton, Paul A. McDermott, Jr. and his wife Paula of East Bridgewater and Patrice Sullivan of Quincy. Cherished Pop of Kate, Shannon, Ryan, Kendall, Jordan and Conner McDermott and Sara and Elizabeth Sullivan. Loving brother of Ruth McDermott of Quincy and the late Hugh and William McDermott. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Friday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Joseph’s Church at 10 AM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul may be made to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main St., Charlestown, MA 02129.
