Patrick J. Mcdonagh

Patrick J. McDonagh Sr, of Quincy, passed away June 22, 2017 after a two year battle with lung cancer surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick was born in Cnoc Lettermullen, County Galway, Ireland.  He was the son of Martin and Mary (Folan) McDonagh.  He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary (Leonard) McDonagh and six children, Mary Ann of Quincy, Noreen Zelano and husband Daniel of Braintree, Eileen Vincent and husband Brandon of North Carolina, Patrick Jr. and wife Nicole of Quincy, John and wife Casey of Milton and Daniel of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren who knew him as Daddo: Ciara, Ryan and Gavin Zelano, Gracie and Kaelin Vincent, Julianne and Olivia McDonagh and Brigid McDonagh.  He was the brother of Martin McDonagh, Stephen McDonagh, Ann Griffin, Kate Loughlin, Nora Flaherty, all of Ireland, Bridget Faherty of Marston Mills, Barbara Farnsworth of Norwood, James McDonagh of Quincy and the late Mary O’Brien of Norwood and Thomas McDonagh of Ireland. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Laborers International Union Local 223 for 49 years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

The McDonagh family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Care Dementions Hospice and to the Mass General Cancer Center for their dedicated care and kindness.
