Murphy, Patrick F. of Hull, formerly of Boston, December 16, 2006. Beloved husband of Elsa M. (Modano) of Hull. Loving father of Lee E. Murphy of Wollaston, Cheryl A. and her husband Jack Criss of Westwood, Lisa A. and her husband Shaun Quilty of Hanover, Stephen M. Kelly and his wife Antonietta of Lynnfield and the late Paul J. Kelly. Loving brother of James V. Murphy of Onset, Barbara Cordell of FL and the late Paul M., Charles X., Thomas L., John J. and Theresa Braxton. Cherished grandfather of Kelly, Jacqueline, Casey, Jenna, Shaun, Ashley and Caroline. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Mr. Murphy graduated from English High School in 1938. He attended Holy Cross College for two years before entering the military. He later attended Boston College and graduted from Boston University Law School. Patrick was proud of his military service and described it as the best time in his life. Patrick loved his country and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy. He served for four years and held the rank of Lieutenant. He was also a pilot in the Navy. Mr. Murphy worked for several law firms over the past 50 years. For the last 20 years of his career he was in private practice. Patrick enjoyed reading anything and everything, especially poetry. He had a spectacular sense of humor and was always available to lend a helping hand. To the Roaring 20’s and the luck of the Irish. From the Solomon Islands to Nantasket Beach. To Holy Cross and celebrated lawyer. From “I do’s” and Beacon Street to letter writing and a million books. From potato salad to tapioca pudding. To brilliant, silly and devoted. To the end of an era, 86 years of memories. Donations in memory of Mr. Murphy may be made to AIDS Action Committee, 294 Washington St., 5th Floor, Boston MA 02108
