Patrick E. Ahl

Ahl, Patrick E. of Weymouth, passed away August 21, 2017.

Patrick was a lifelong Weymouth resident and a 1994 graduate of Weymouth High School. He was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran, serving in Afghanistan in 2002. Patrick had been assigned recently to the State Police barracks in Norwell, previously serving at the Danvers barracks. In addition to his career as a State Trooper, he worked many years as a correctional officer for the state Department of Correction. In 2010, Patrick was awarded the departmental Medal of Valor for his bravery in saving a woman whose car had hydroplaned off the road. Patrick had always been involved in Weymouth sports when he was younger, and carried that love for sports into adulthood. He had a heart of gold and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Loving son of Edward and Margaret “Penny” Ahl of Weymouth. Brother of Shannon Burns and her husband Frank of Weymouth and Susan Junkins and her husband John of Whitman. Grandson of Margaret Solberg and predeceased by his grandparents Stanley Solberg and Edward and Eleanor Ahl. Nephew of Maureen Solberg-Morris, Butch Howell and his wife Roseanne, Barbara Ahl and her late husband Robert, Arlene Lalli and her husband Vinny, Kenneth Ahl and his wife Maureen and Joseph Ahl and his wife Kris. Uncle of Nicholas, Alanna and John Junkins.  Also survived by many cousins and his two feline companions Nellie and Bella.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 3-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
