Patrick Henry Duffy

Patrick H. Duffy, a longtime resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was 85.

He was born in Boston to Mary (Farrell) and Edward Duffy and raised in Roxbury. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 3 years before returning home. He worked as a mechanic for over 40 years, 25 with the MBTA and 15 with the USPS. He met the love of his life, Virginia (Brean) on a blind date. The two hit it off and were soon married and started a family. They settled in Brockton and had 3 children. 

Patrick was generous with his time and spent many years volunteering at Brockton hospitals. When he wasn’t working or volunteering, Patrick was an avid reader. In his earlier years, he spent a lot of time riding his motorcycle, taking his boat out, bowling, roller blading and biking. 

His life centered around his family, and he had a deep love for his canine companions. Patrick’s free and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Virginia Duffy of Brockton. Devoted father to Christine Costello and her husband Christopher of Quincy, Patrick T. Duffy and his wife Stefanie of Jay, ME and the late Tammy Duffy. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, November 1st, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 2nd, at 11 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Cremation will follow.
