Weymouth – Patricia “Pat” M. Sears (Ward) passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023, at the age of 69, following a courageous battle with a long-term illness.
Born in 1953 to George and Virginia Ward, Pat spent her early years in Dorchester, MA, before moving to Braintree with her family in 1966. Throughout her life, Pat possessed a remarkable ability to effortlessly forge friendships and nurture lasting connections.
Pat graduated from Braintree High School in 1971 and went on to excel at Quincy College. She embarked on a successful career in the insurance industry, where her exceptional skills earned her numerous accolades and promotions within various management roles. After a fulfilling journey, Pat recently retired from her esteemed position in the Quality Assurance department at Iron Mountain.
One of Pat’s greatest joys in life was exploring the world alongside her loving husband, Dave. They shared a passion for travel, particularly through their unforgettable journeys aboard cruise ships. The pinnacle of their adventures was an extensive cruise to New Zealand and Australia, an experience they cherished deeply. Pat generously extended her love for cruising to her many nieces and nephews, taking them on their own special voyages.
Pat valued time spent with her family and reveled in the spirit of Christmas, making it her favorite holiday. Her love for giving knew no bounds, as she delighted in selecting thoughtful gifts for her loved ones. Pat and her husband established a heartwarming tradition of hosting a pre-Christmas breakfast for friends and family, creating cherished memories year after year.
When not immersed in family gatherings or exploring the world, Pat enjoyed challenging herself and others with computer word games. She excelled in games such as Scrabble, Word with Friends, and Wordle, and those who dared to challenge her experienced her fierce competitive nature.
Pat leaves behind her beloved husband of 45 years, David, who will forever treasure their time together. She is also survived by her sisters, Anne Rice and her husband Jim of Plymouth, Joyce Meaden and her husband Kenneth Sr. of Weymouth, and Virginia Muh and her partner William of Weymouth. Pat’s boundless enthusiasm and love will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched profoundly.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Pat’s vibrant personality and love for traveling by donating to your personal travel fund. If you haven’t started one yet, now is the perfect time to begin. Use these funds to go on a vacation with your loved ones and remember Pat with fondness while continuing her passion for travel.
