Patty was born at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She resided with her grandparents, Carl and Betty Soderstrom in Quincy. Patty attended St. Joseph’s School for grades 1-5, St. Ann’s for grades 6-8 and entered as a Freshman at Archbishop Williams in Braintree. Patty was always very athletic and was involved with Quincy Youth Hockey, Quincy Softball League, the Quincy Lacrosse Team, St. John Baseball, and Sacred Heart Basketball. Patty was a cheerleader for the Quincy Point Panthers. In addition to the Quincy sports, she was also involved with her school sports which included basketball at both St. Joseph’s and St. Ann’s. Patty played basketball on the Freshman team at Archies. Patty volunteered at LaBoure Children’s Center in So. Boston and for the Salvation Army at Christmas time. Patty had just started working at Stop & Shop in Quincy and always enjoyed helping others, especially by tutoring other students. Patty was very outgoing. She loved animals, kids, photography, and using the computer. She was always very thoughtful and took the time to create memorable collages for family members when they had birthdays or other celebrations. Patty was always helping and doing for others, she had mentioned that she wanted to become a nurse. Patty was recently described as the sweetest girl you’d ever want to meet. Everyone loved her; she will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Messages from Patty’s family: Patty’s brother Richie said his sister Patty was his best friend and also his best partner in basketball in the backyard. Upon hearing that God needed another angel, a friend of Patty’s Papa said “of all my granddaughters friends, Patty was the sweetest girl I ever met”. To her Papa, Patty will always be his sweet little baby girl and he will forever be hearing her call “Papa, can I……” To her Nana, it was and forever will be “good night my buddy, good night my pal”. To her mother, people would say “you look just like your mom and Patty would say “I look like myself”. Patty’s mother said “you will always be the ray of sunshine that creeps out on a cloudy day. You are my angel!”. To her Aunt Robin, she was the little princess to the big princess. Her brother Nicholas said of his sister “you are my favorite sister and I hope God takes good care of you and I love you so much and will never, never forget you. You were my favorite, you are the best! Don’t forget me” Cousin JoJo said “you were my favorite cousin I will always be with you and you with me. I will never forget you and don’t forget me-Amen”. Aunt Amy said “I would always say Patty you are my favorite niece and she would laugh and say I’m your only niece.” Patty’s aunt Holly said “My Girl – I hear you telling me not to be sad, that you are at peace right beside your Dad. Your telling me its okay, that you already know everything I want to say. You have always been and will always be “my girl”, and I am so glad you know that I always knew I had a guardian angel – and now I know her name.” To my daughter with love: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know dear, how much I loved you so please don’t take my sunshine away. Now that you’ve been taken away, they say to a better place, I’m angry because I want you here with us. You were such a beautiful person inside and out. I know I always haven’t been there for you and it hurts so much because I’ve missed a lot. But there was never a day that went by that I didn’t think about you or your brothers. I have such a big hole in my heart right now. I know that if you were still here you would have made a good life for yourself. You were ambitious, and got involved in everything. You know I told everyone of my friends you were an angel and you touched everyone’s heart, everyone that knew you loved you. Ever since you were a little girl you were so friendly and you turned into a beautiful young woman. I know we have had our arguments and we wouldn’t talk, but we always got over it. I don’t understand why this happened, I’m having a hard time excepting. But I just want to tell you, I’m sorry for the times I wasn’t there for you and I love you so much, you made me proud and I was so proud to be your mom. Now your in heaven and your not alone, your Dad’s there waiting and I know you’ll be looked after. Between the both of you, you need to look upon us, Nana, Papa, Holly, Robin, Amy, Nicholas, JoJo, Richie and me. I miss you so much and love you. Mom
