PATRICIA M. BERNIER, 88

Patricia “Pat” (Malone) Bernier was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 2, 1929. She departed this world on October 19, 2017.

A mother of five daughters, Pat set the standard for excellence in all she did. She loved preparing delicious meals for her family and friends and was considered to be “the hostess with the mostest” in her neighborhood. A lover of the arts, she was a gifted seamstress, interior decorator, and painter, and her creations adorn the houses of family and friends across the United States. Her generosity to others knew no bounds.

She worked for more than 20 years as secretary to the Braintree High School principal, but her favorite way to pass her time was with her husband of nearly 65 years. She and her “Charlie” were a loving and united team in all they did. They traveled the world together, often with friends and family, for many years upon retirement.

Pat had an unwavering faith in God and honored His name in song with her beautiful voice at every mass. She never questioned His wisdom and knew that by putting Him first, all else would fall into place as intended.

Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles M. Bernier. She is survived by her daughter Christine Stewart, her daughter Susan Russo and her husband Jim, her daughter Charlene McDade and her husband Paul, her daughter Laurel McHargue and her husband Mike, her daughter Carol Shaughnessy and her husband Michael, and her sister Phyllis McCarthy. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, six nieces and two nephews.

A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Paul’s Parish, 147 North St, Hingham, MA 02043.
