WEYMOUTH – Patricia K. (Mann) Murray, 79, of Weymouth passed away Friday, August 9, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. She has lived in Weymouth for the past 57 years.
Patsy was the beloved wife of John P. Murray, Sr. for 57 years. Devoted mother of their children Catherine Portanova of Upton; John and Jean Murray of East Lyme, CT; JoAnn and the late Joseph Pelland of Weymouth; Michael and Barbara Murray of Weymouth; the late Martin Murray, Joseph and Karen Murray of Bridgewater; Maureen and Kevin Reilly of Weymouth; Christine and Michael Parker of Weymouth; “Grammy” to 20 grandchildren and “GiGi” to 4 great grandchildren; sister of William and Gladys Mann, Sr. of Virginia, sister of Mary Mann of Braintree, sister of the late Barbara Murray and sister-in-law of Edward and Marie Murray of Weymouth and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Pat is also survived by many dear friends.
She was a very gentle, kind woman with a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Pat has touched countless lives and will be remembered fondly for her endless capacity to help others whenever she was needed.
Pat and her husband John were daily communicants of the Immaculate Conception Parish of Weymouth. An active volunteer at the church, she most recently served on the alter guild and was a member of the choir. Pat was a volunteer at the Swim with a Special Child program. She was a member of the Rosa Cappella’s Weymouth Chapter of the Red Hats. She loved spending time with her family and most especially Sunday family dinners and sing-alongs, attending her grandchildren’s sports events, school plays and fashion shows. Pat was the director of family and friends activities.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) South Weymouth on Monday, August 12 from 3-8 PM. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug 13 at 9 AM prior to the Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Center, 55 Fogg Road, South Weymouth, MA 02190.
