Patricia A. O’Shea

Patricia A. O’Shea, 73 of Quincy entered eternal life on December 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was raised in South Boston and lived in Quincy for the past thirty seven years. She was a graduate of St. Augustine’s High School. Having volunteered as a teen at Marion Manor in South Boston, she found her calling and entered into the order of the Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirmed upon graduation. Pat’s religious name was Sr. M. Therese of All Saints and she was last stationed at the very same Marion Manor. After many years, illness had her requesting a leave of absence from which she never returned. She began working for Gillette at the Prudential Building and retired from there after 30 years.

Pat, also known as “Patsy” was the loving daughter of the late Ron and Anne O’Shea. A devoted sister to Ronald “Ron” O’Shea and his wife Annette of Dedham as well as the late Elizabeth “Betty” Shanahan of Rockland and the late Alice”Dolly” O’Malley of Quincy. She was the loyal aunt of her caretaker Denise O’Malley Connors and surrogate grandmother to her great nephews Jeffrey and Jared Sullivan. She is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.

Pat had a strong devotion to God and God’s work of love and kindness to all. She spread her loving care and joy to all who met her. She loved life, music and dance – always dancing. She had a beautiful smile and it was not unusual to see her wiping tears from her eyes in laughter.

She became a travel bug starting with her trips back to her parent’s home land- Harbor Grace, Newfoundland, as a young girl. She continued to satisfy that bug with trips to Acapulco, Mexico and throughout the USA and then perfected it on many trips with groups from Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy, visiting the Holy Lands in Israel twice, Rome Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Portugal and Our Lady of Medjugorje site in the former Yugoslavia.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 5-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:45 am prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 248 East Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, NJ 19713.
