Patricia “Pat” A. (Galiano) Duncan of Weymouth, 81, lost her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease on November 1, 2021. Pat is predeceased by her husband, the late John A. Duncan, Sr., to whom she was married for 32 years until her heart broke upon his passing at the age of 50. Devoted mother of Steven Duncan and his wife Patricia of Parrish, FL; Donna (Duncan) Driscoll of Norwood; and the late John A. Duncan, Jr. and his wife Lori (Johnson) of Kingston. Proud “Noni” of Pamella Lee (Duncan) Maggiore and husband Anthony, Jacquelynn Duncan, Sarah Duncan, Thomas Driscoll, Andrew Duncan, Danielle Campot, Russell Campot, Cameron Maggiore, Aidan Maggiore, and great grandson Owen. Also survived by her cousin Marie Slaney of Florida, many nieces and nephews, and their children. Pat is predeceased by her parents Gerald and Alice Galiano of Braintree; her brother Frank Galiano and his wife Jean of Weymouth; and her brother Gerald Galiano and his wife Georgina of Weymouth.

Pat grew up in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High school in 1958. She remained very close to her Braintree friends, especially enjoying their annual Christmas luncheon. Pat began working at the former New England Telephone Company after graduation until she became a mom. She was a Den mother to Cub Scouts for several years and later a Brownie leader within the Girl Scouts.  At 36, she rejoined the workforce and was employed at Kemper Insurance Agency for 20 years.  She was a faithful member of St Jerome Parish for almost 60 years, volunteering time for craft fairs, assisting elderly neighbors and later enjoying St Patrick’s Day dinners and cookouts with the parish community. As a proud member of the Weymouth Newcomers Club, Pat enjoyed her role as Hospitality Coordinator and cherished the companionship of her Club sisters. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and loved the company of her black cat Candy and later her cat Abby. An avid reader of the Patriot Ledger, she also enjoyed her People magazines, and loved going to movies. Pat also loved to bake and was known to give her famous pumpkin breads out as gifts. She was proud of her Italian heritage but also had a great affection for Native Americans and enjoyed attending Pow Wow celebrations enjoying the people, music and culture. Prior to her illness, she traveled within the United States and also to the Bahamas, Italy, Mexico, Canada, and Nova Scotia, but she especially appreciated simple trips into Boston with friends and family.
