DeMong, Patricia A. (Carvalho) of Weymouth, passed away on June 4, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Eugene F. DeMong. Daughter of the late Augustus and Laura (Gavin) Carvalho. Cherished mother of Duane E. DeMong and his wife Louise of Somerset NJ, Mathew F. DeMong and his wife Nicole of Hanover and Charlene P. Dearden and her husband James of Hanover. Sister of Frederick, Richard, Barbara, Frank, Gerald and Jimmy Carvalho. Proud nana of Liam, Jacob, Victoria, Dylan, Brielle, and Tyler. Pat was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
After marrying her husband Eugene, they moved to Weymouth, MA where they raised their three children: Charlene, Mat and Duane. Pat’s children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Whether taking her children to soccer practice, music lessons, cub scouts or girl scouts she managed to do it all while helping Eugene run their electrical business. Education was of paramount importance to her and she supported her children through their undergraduate and graduate studies. Her children’s accomplishments were a source of great pride. Pat also managed to obtain her nursing degree while raising her three children and worked at Quincy Rehabilitation and Nursing where she was loved by the elderly patients she cared for. In her retirement, she enjoyed being with her friends at the Whipple Center where they would do knitting and quilting. She would go on bus trips and attend group activities at Southern Artery in Quincy as well. She also tirelessly cared for her husband through his battle with cancer. Nana was an expert at spoiling her grandkids. She would carry pictures of them around to show her friends and always loved being with them. All her grandkids would light up when they saw her and she took immense joy in singing, reading and doing crafts with them. Pat was a selfless woman who will be missed by many. She is now in heaven with Eugene, watching over all of us.
