Pamela Jeanne (Gratta) Rowell

Rowell, Pamela Jeanne (Gratta)of Pembroke formerly of Hingham died suddenly on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The beloved wife of the late Kenneth Stanley Rowell. Cherished mother of Scott Matthew Rowell and his wife Jill of Hingham, Mark Joseph Rowell and his wife Maryellen of Plymouth, Kerri-Anne Ford and her husband James of Buzzards Bay, Kenneth S. Rowell, III of Pembroke and the late Kenneth S. Rowell, II . Daughter of the late Joseph & Rose V. (Nardo) Gratta. Loving sister of Joseph J. Gratta, Jr. and his wife Janis of Quincy, Maria and her husband Douglas Pagnani of Hanson, Judith Ann Gratta of Hingham and the late Michael and Mark-o Gratta. Devoted grandmother of Scott, Nolan, Jonah , Andrew & Olivia Rowell and Kennedy Ford. Pamela is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A life long resident of Hingham, Pamela was a co-founder of the Hingham Women’s sports. She also worked as a crossing guard and as a para-professional at the Foster School for many years. She then became the Recreation Commissioner for the Town of Hingham for 18 years, before taking her current position as Recreation Director for the Town of Pembroke. Pam love to travel to Disney and spent her 60th birthday at Graceland. She loved to shop, garden and spend her time with her grandchildren. Pam will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4-8pm the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Friday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Pamela may be made to Town of Pembroke C/O Skate Park Committee, 100 Center St. Pembroke, MA .
