Orla M. Murray

Murray, Orla M. of Quincy, formerly of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary died on February 9, 2014 at MGH. 

Beloved wife of Eric Murray and daughter of Maureen and Patrick. Orla was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1989. Her first community of friends began during her work as a Nanny in Boston but her compassionate nature blossomed in her dedication and commitment to a career in nursing. Beginning as a nurse’s aid, Orla’s love of nursing led her to pursue advanced education and she would have proudly received her bachelor’s degree in nursing this spring. Her intelligence, sense of humor, energy and empathy filled the lives of family and friends throughout her life.

Her partner in life, her husband Eric Murray, a fellow Irishman, was her best friend and soulmate and they celebrated over two decades of friendship and almost fourteen years of marriage. A large extended family in the United States and Ireland grieve the loss of her presence and friendship and include her Mother Maureen, her sister Deirdre and brother Padraig and a large extended family of her husband’s family. Orla’s love of her nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles was returned with love in full measure. She will be sadly missed by the family of friends that she and her husband Eric created in the United States.  She was pre-deceased by her beloved Father Patrick and will be laid to rest with him in Four-Mile-Water Cemetery close to her childhood home in Clonmel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM at 757 Hancock Street, Wollaston, MA.
