Orilla Marie Cummings

Cummings, Orilla Marie (Thibodeau) of Weymouth, passed away at home with her family by her side on February 7, 2017.

Orilla was an employee for many years at the Singer Sewing Company before retiring as manager. All of the women in Orilla’s family had handmade wedding dresses that she made for each of them. Orilla loved to travel all over the United States with her husband Carlton for car trips and to visit relatives. Orilla also enjoyed gardening, painting and cooking her family delicious meals.

Beloved wife of 70 years to the late Carlton P. Cummings Sr. Cherished mother of Karen Truett of Weymouth, the late Carlton P. Cummings, Jr and mother in law to Ninette Cummings. Treasured nana of Lee Ann Truett, Charles Truett, Jr. & wife Shelley, Lisa Alisandratos, Carlton P. Cummings, III & wife Faith, and Gina-Marie Cummings. Great nana of Brittany, Kosta, Brandon, Jaclyn, Justin, Brianna, Thora, Melissa, Tyler and Arcadia Jo. Great great nana of Cheyenne and Katarina. Orilla was predeceased by her parents Eustache and Ella (Jandreau) Thibodeau and her brothers Lionel and Delmar Thibodeau.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
