Norma Mae Cullivan

Norma Mae (Pezze) Cullivan, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2015, surrounded by her loving family after more than 10 years with Alzheimer’s disease.  Although unable to communicate with words for many years, she continued to show love and contentment until the end with her sparkling eyes and happy smile. Her cheery disposition made her a favorite patient at Colony House.

Born in Great Barrington, she was the beloved wife of her late husband, Laurence J. Cullivan.  Norma was preceded in death by her siblings Frank, Francis, Marion and her twin, Anna.  Norma is survived by her children, Laurence Jr. (Cissie) of Williamsburg, VA; James (Amy Tisch), Bridgewater; Daniel (Dianne), Kingston; Paul (Lucia), Abington; Linda Unwin (Robert), Rockland; Douglas (Donna), Hyde Park, VT; Kathleen Lang (Nicholas), Ridgefield, CT; Lisa Brolin (Robert), Whitman; Theresa Cullivan (Robert), Abington; grandchildren Jennifer, Justin, Jay, Katie, Christine, Carrie, Nicholas, Jessica, Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, Cynthia, Benjamin, Victoria, Patrick, Elizabeth, Ryan and Taylor; and great grandchildren Madison, Coady, Morgan, Callen, Logan, Maddie, Dylan, AJ, Kayleigh, Cody, Bailey, Jasmine, William, James, Joseph, Lila, Laurel, Brandon, and Jake.

Norma’s greatest joy was taking care of her family.  She was always willing to help with cooking, cleaning, sewing, and caring for grandchildren, and she loved having a full house for every holiday. She was a strong and faithful woman who also enjoyed her bowling league, volunteering for the church, walking miles and miles every day, and traveling to Disney World, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and on several cruises to Alaska, the Carribean and Bermuda.

The family is especially grateful to Chris and Stacey and all of the other amazing nurses and staff at the Colony Center of Health and Rehabilitation for the love and care they gave our dear mother.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 from 4 pm to 8 pm at McDonald-Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main St., South Weymouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 720 Broad Street, East Weymouth, MA.
