Sheehan, Nellie L. (Hardy), 89 years of age, of Braintree died January 5, 2007 after a heroic battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Mrs. Sheehan was born and raised in Charlestown, moved to Somerville and then to Braintree 42 years ago. She enjoyed playing bingo and being around her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Ernest C. Sheehan, Sr. Devoted mother and friend of Patricia “Patsy” Sheehan of Weymouth, Ernest “Red” Sheehan, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Braintree and the late Linda Doucette. Sister of Ruth Connolly of FL, Herbert “Hank” Hardy of Everett, and Richard Hardy of FL. Loving grandmother of Kelly Croke and husband Chris, Mark Doucette and wife Linda, Dean Doucette and wife Jill, Deborah Cerilli and husband Joe, Michael Sheehan and wife Jennifer, Kerry Burke and husband Dave, and Erin Sheehan. Great grandmother, affectionately referred to as “G.G.” to 16 great grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Churchatorium, Weymouth Landing at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nellie L. Sheehan may be made to Marge Crispin Social Day Care Center, 100 Pond Street, Braintree, MA 02184. Mrs. Sheehan was born and raised in Charlestown, moved to Somerville and then to Braintree 42 years ago. She enjoyed playing bingo at Sacred Heart in Weymouth Landing and being around her family and friends. Nellie worked at Holmes Direct Mail in Cambridge for about 10 years after her years of raising her children. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Mrs. Sheehan was a avid shopper and enjoyed spending time at the Marge Crispin Social Day Care Center.
