Nelda V. Penniman

Penniman, Nelda V. (Burroughs) of Brewster, formerly of North Weymouth, died May 22, 2017 at the age of 85.

Nelda worked as a waitress for 40 years for Howard Johnson’s in Braintree, Angelo’s, and Walsh’s Restaurant, both in Quincy. She enjoyed Bingo and candlepin bowling. Nelda was a people person and she will be remembered for her strength, love and kindness.

She was the wife of the late Wallace Penniman, II. Loving mother of Douglas Penniman of VT, Michael Penniman of Dorchester, Arlene MacLarty of Centerville, Wallace Penniman, III of Methuen, and Audrey Purtle of Brewster. Nelda was the last living of her 12 siblings. She is also lovingly survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
