Neil M. Hartford

Neil M. Hartford, of Abington and formerly of Scituate and Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Boston Medical Center. He was 76.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Myron D. and Mary M. (McEachern) Hartford. Neil attended Quincy High School with the Class of 1960. After high school, Neil enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged on July 28, 1963. Following his time in the service, Neil earned his degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University. His career spanned many industries. Neil retired as a Director of Operations.

In his spare time, Neil enjoyed sailing, boat restoration, reading, and watching the Patriots. Neil loved to be on or near the water. He was most happy when spending time with family. Neil was adventurous, hardworking, energetic, devoted, and always happy. His legacy continues through his family. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Neil was the beloved husband of Judith C. (Sangster) Hartford. Together they shared many years of loving marriage. He was the devoted father of Heather A. Hartford of Weymouth, Jonathan A. Hartford and his wife Melissa of Wayland, Michael A. Hartford and his wife Leyre of Sharon, and Christopher N. Hartford of Anaheim, California. Neil was the loving grandfather of Orly Hartford of Sharon and Madeline Hartford of Wayland. He was the dear brother of Mary Ann Wilkinson of Braintree, Myron Hartford and his wife Peggy, George Hartford and his wife Rozzie, all of Falmouth, Stephen Hartford and his wife Linda of Caribou, Maine, Nancie Goddard and her husband Jack of Braintree, and Peter Hartford and his wife Kathy of Falmouth. Neil is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, April 1st from 4 through 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

Neil’s funeral service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Neil may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
