Neil “Frank” Murphy

Neil “Frank” Murphy, formerly of Braintree, originally from Dorchester, entered eternal rest on May 28, 2021. Neil proudly served in US Navy Seabees in the Vietnam War. He went on to serve his community as a decorated Boston Police officer for 36 years in the Mobile Operations Motorcycle Unit. He served on the Boston Police Honor Guard for many years and was a National Anthem singer for many Boston events. Neil was a member of the Boston Police Retired Patrolmen’s Association.

Beloved husband of 52 years to Deborah (Jurasek) Murphy. Devoted father of Pamela A. Murphy-Zakowsky and her husband Joe, LtCol. Neil F. Murphy, Jr. (USMC, Ret.) and his wife Alicia, Janice M. Murphy and Kenneth J. Murphy and his wife Carla. Cherished Grampie of 1stLt. Jacob A. Murphy, USMC, Selena, Shaelin, Zachary, Brooke, Morgan, Owen and Riley.

Loving brother of Eleanor McGonagle and her husband Andrew, Connie Gill, Kathleen Keane and her husband Peter, Richard Murphy and the late Marie Grabowski, Claire Molisse, Lawrence Murphy, Kevin Murphy. Loving brother in law of Richard Molisse, Sue Murphy, John and Ann Marie Jurasek, Mary Ann White, and the late Daniel Jurasek, Edward Grabowski, Deb Murphy and Jack Gill.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Zoey.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 11 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree at 12 PM.

Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Neil may be made to a charity of your choice.
